Attendance for old style book fairs is still strong as the presence eBook readers and tablets hasn’t taken over India…yet. Although the ability to download books onto a portable device has many advantages, nothing can beat the feeling of holding a page turner in your hands.

Three major book fairs sponsored by National Book Trust of India are scheduled in October 2012:

Trichy Book Fair

When: Friday, October 5 to Sunday, October 14

Where: St. John’s School Ground, Cantonment

Hours: 9AM to 6PM

Jaipur National Book Fair

When: Monday, October 8 to Sunday, October 14

Where: SMS Investment Ground, Ambedkar Circle

Hours: 9AM to 6PM

Aligarh Book Fair

When: Wednesday, October 17 to Sunday, October 21

Where: Aligarh Muslim University, Opp. Maulana Azad Library

Hours: 9AM to 6PM
