For the first two nights of my three week South India journey Casa Cottage was my home in India. Many thanks to the owners Bhushan & Benjamine Oberoi for allowing my guest and me to stay as their guests while in Bangalore.
We arrived very late/early morning around 4:30 AM navigating the spiral staircase up to our first floor room. Weary travelers, as we were, will instantly feel at home in the open air setting. Our efficient sized room had ample free space leaving the two of us more than enough area to spread out. The attached balcony reached via french doors added room to stretch as well as fresh breezes throughout the day and night.
We welcomed the in-room mini fridge for chilling heat fighting bottled water. A large and comfortable bed is positioned so morning sun falls directly on sleeping guests. The attached bath was neat and clean, and also modern. Western toilet, sink and shower with full time running hot water was as expected.
Head down to the verandah for breakfast or tea/coffee anytime. Choose between South Indian (must be ordered one day in advance) or Continental. Eggs cooked to order, toast w/butter/jam, juice, fruit salad and tea/coffee. TIP: Order the masala scrambled eggs served in a ramekin.
Free WiFi is available throughout the property. Laundry service is also an option for those passing through town or ending their journey. Several restaurants are within walking distance, including a roof top terrace just steps from the entrance to Casa Cottage. Tuk Tuk’s can be found after a few blocks for easy transport to MG Road and the sights of the city.
My travel partner and I quickly made friends with the staff who had made us feel at home. In fact we were treated to the marriage album of the two main staff members. When I find myself in Bangalore in the future, I know exactly where I’ll be staying.
