Right from the start Rakesh and I hit off as friends, and as he often tells me, his brother. He was booked as my driver for my first journey to India back in 2005. At that time, Rakesh was working with a full service travel agency through which my trip was arranged.
Now a business owner of his own, Rakesh is working on his Indian dream of securing a better life for his wife and three kids. Shikha care for their home and kids in Delhi while he personally manages his tours. Their three kids Ritika, 11, Shobett, 9, and Shagun, 8, all attend a private school just down the road from home.
Rakesh and his family have taken me in on each trip with open arms offering me a place to stay and as many home cooked meals I can eat. If it weren’t for Rakesh, my experiences and interest in India could not possibly have occurred.
