Viewers in the US and Canada were finally able to catch a glimpse into Oprah’s January 2012 trip to India as the American-based media star recounted her travels on the show, Oprah’s Next Chapter. It was the first time Oprah visited the country, a visit which brought cheers and jeers from Indians alike. For those that couldn’t watch outside of North America, here are video highlights of the first part which aired April 22, 2012. Part 2 of Oprah Travels to India airs April 29, 2012 on OWN.

Oprah travels to India for the first time and meets Bollywood’s biggest stars, including “the most beautiful woman in the world.” Plus, Oprah visits Mumbai’s infamous slums and has a traditional Indian meal at a home where four generations live under one roof.
