American fashion brand Kenneth Cole announced it has signed a licensing and distribution deal for it’s retail and wholesale products in India with Reliance Brands Limited. A total of 25 stores in 8 years are planned for opening across the country; Five stores will open within the next three years, with plans to open an additional 20 stores within the following 5 years.
This won’t be the first entry into the Asian market for Kenneth Cole, where 35 existing locations spanning across Philippines, Taiwan, and Thailand already sell the fashion house’s footwear, handbags and apparel. Kenneth Cole Indian stores will carter to both male and female with products ranging from men’s and women’s footwear, clothing and accessories under the Kenneth Cole New York and the Kenneth Cole Reaction labels. No details on initial store sites has been given.
As the largest private sector company in India, Reliance Brands already has joint ventures with Ermengildo Zegna, Diesel, Paul & Shark, along with long term distribution and licensing agreements with Timberland, Quiksilver, Roxy and Steve Madden for the Indian market.
