Apple, the well known maker of the wildly popular iPad and iPod, is finally selling an official unlocked version of it’s latest smartphone, iPhone 4S, in the USA. It’s now possible for business and pleasure tourists, who have long desired to travel to India from USA with their iPhone, to have one model work at home and abroad.
The unlocked iPhone 4S is available in the same color and memory configurations as the models sold with long-term contracts: black and white with 16 GB at $649, 32 GB at $749 and 64 GB at $849.
As stated in Apple’s website, “The unlocked iPhone works only on supported GSM networks, such as AT&T in the U.S. When you travel internationally, you can also use a micro-SIM card from a local GSM carrier. The unlocked iPhone will not work with CDMA carriers such as Verizon Wireless or Sprint.”
