Grand Sunset is a decent, clean budget hotel in India just minutes from Chail, Himachal Pradesh. Given the Bengali tourist season, my driver and I were concerned the hotels in Chail, India may be full so we stopped here based on it’s appearance and ample parking spaces. The hotel room was large, neat and clean. The bathroom was also neat and clean, full time water, heater tank and shower for hot showers in the morning.

There is a restaurant dining area on the main floor but the actual available Indian food items from the menu were limited. Food service is a bit slow so be patient however the presentation, taste and quality were the usual.

We woke up early the next morning and called for tea however the staff was still sleeping even at 8 A.M. when we decided to hit the road. It would be wise to make plans with staff for tea/breakfast service the night before or just plan on grabbing in town later.

The views off the rooftop veranda were worth the higher than usual rates for this type of guest house, a justifiable reason. I spent 30 minutes just listening to the valley waking up, taking pictures and video.

With room and dinner the cost was Rs 1110 for the night.
