Gujarat Tourism and Saevus Wildlife have teamed up to present Bird-A-Thon, a bird photography race to be held November 3, 2012. The one day competition located in Jamnagar, is open only to Indian residents over the age of 18. Sorry, no foreign tourists

Amateur and professional photographers, birding enthusiasts and naturalists are encouraged to join the free birding competition. Teams of 5 persons drawn at random from the entries received will compete on morning and afternoon trails, logging and photographing all birds spotted. Prizes will be awarded by the jury in five categories based on data and photographic results.

The five categories are:

• Team with maximum sightings (based on a weighted point system)
• Team with sighting of rarest species
• Best photograph
• Best naturalist
• Best birder
