This service, provided every weekend for more than 4 years now, was a program I had hoped to arrange during a brief visit to Bangalore. My calendar did not have me in this tech-centered city over a weekend, however, their website mentioned special weekday tours could be arranged. After a couple of emails inquiring about this option, I received an response that put my chances into a definitive light:

“The reality is – given the near absence of any other quality professionally-conducted walks/tours – we are swamped with private tour requests from the hundreds of Bangalore-based multinational companies, who want our presenters to handle their visiting business delegations/bosses/customers. A weekday walk for 2-3 travellers is possible only if we are free, and the price is acceptable (flat fee of Rs 5,000 and upwards).”

Unfortunately my schedule was fixed, and taking advantage of the more sensible Rs 500 weekend tour rate (per person) was not an option. Mental note to tourists traveling to Bangalore…arrange your stay over a weekend so you can take part in this service.
